If you’ve ever had brow lamination, you’ll know it’s a bit like marmite. You either love it or hate it.
For years, I debated whether to try it. Brow lamination started booming around 2020 and ever since then I’ve been curious but also slightly wary. What if I didn’t like the results? What if it turned out ugly?
I’ve had my fair share of eyebrow mishaps before. Back in 2018, I got my brows tinted in Rome and spent my entire Italian holiday walking around with what I can only describe as caterpillar eyebrows. Then there were lash extensions. I used to get them religiously every month until one day I decided to give my lashes a break and realized how sparse they had become. I even developed a bit of lash blindness where lashes become so full they start making the eye area look droopy. Almost like you’re wearing a broom on your eyelids.
So safe to say I’ve learned to be careful with beauty treatments. But it’s 2026 and curiosity finally won.

What Is Brow Lamination?
For those unfamiliar, brow lamination is essentially a perm for your eyebrows. A chemical solution is applied to soften the brow hairs so they can be brushed and set into a new shape. The goal is to create fuller looking brows that stay lifted and groomed for weeks.
It’s particularly popular for people with unruly brows, sparse areas, or anyone who wants that fluffy, brushed-up look without having to style their brows every day. Results usually last around 4 to 6 weeks, depending on your hair growth and aftercare.
Trying Brow Lamination in Bangkok
After doing some research on where to go in Bangkok, I ended up booking an appointment at Brow Babe, a brow studio located in RCA that’s known for its precise brow shaping and natural-looking results. The studio is often heavily booked, which is usually a good sign.
Booking was simple through their online link and we managed to get an appointment just three days later.
When I arrived, the space was clean, minimal, and very efficient. Everything felt organized and professional which immediately put me at ease. The process started with the artist cleansing my brows, designing the shape, and waxing any stray hairs. Once the brows were prepped, she applied the lamination solution. There was a slight tingling sensation but nothing uncomfortable. The solution stayed on for about 10 to 15 minutes before it was removed and the brows were brushed into their new shape.
Originally I had booked wax, lamination, and tint, but the artist recommended skipping the tint because my brows were already quite defined and the lamination itself would darken them slightly. I appreciated that honesty. Then came the moment of truth.
When she handed me the mirror I was honestly shocked. I liked them but they definitely looked intense at first. Laminated brows are very defined and the lifted shape was much more noticeable than I expected.
Before, my brows were very much doing their own thing. The shape was there but the hairs grew in different directions which made them look a little uneven and less defined. After the lamination, everything looked more lifted, fuller, and brushed into place. It definitely gave that fluffy, polished brow look without needing to fill them in with makeup.
The Aftercare and How My Brows Changed
Aftercare was simple. No water for 24 hours. Apply the nourishing oil they provided and brush the brows daily to keep them in place.
For the first two weeks, my brows actually looked great. They stayed fluffy, lifted, and perfectly groomed without needing to fill them in with makeup.
But after a while, even though I followed the aftercare, I started noticing dryness and some breakage. Which, thinking about it now, isn’t entirely surprising. You’re essentially perming your brow hairs.
Eventually I noticed small sparse areas where hairs had broken, and the overall effect wasn’t exactly what I imagined when I first decided to try lamination.Instead of effortlessly perfect brows, I found myself with a few uneven spots where you could see the hair breakage.

I want to be clear that I don’t blame the salon or the artist for this experience. It may simply be that my brow hairs didn’t react well to the treatment. Brow Babe actually has fantastic reviews and the team there is extremely skilled. I would absolutely go back for their brow waxing because their shaping technique is excellent.
For me personally though, brow lamination just didn’t work with my hair type, but that’s the thing about beauty treatments. What works beautifully for one person might not work the same for another. And that’s okay.
